For the past six years, Lauren Pacella, Director of Billing, Payroll, and Benefits at ALKU, has been fundraising for Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) by riding in the Rodman Ride for Kids along with the rest of the ALKrew! MMP is an umbrella organization that serves more than 250 mentoring and youth development programs across the state of Massachusetts. This year, Lauren was looking for a new challenge, so she traded her bike for running shoes. She has chosen to continue supporting MMP by running the 46th annual Falmouth Road Race! The Falmouth Road Race is a 7-mile race on August 19th in Cape Cod, MA.

MMP is an organization that is near and dear to Lauren’s heart as this is her 7th year fundraising. Lauren is heavily involved with MMP and ALKU’s efforts in more ways than one. She has been a big part of our mentoring program by being a mentor herself and training many new hires. Lauren participated in ALKU’s Junior Achievement program where volunteers educate youth in economic success and she participates yearly in the Rodman Ride. Lauren also attends the Cheers to Mentoring Celebration every Fall, where the ALKU scholarship is awarded.

“I am so excited to run for MMP this year in the Falmouth Road Race!” Says Lauren, “Over the past 7 years I have supported MMP through many outlets, the biggest being the Rodman Ride for Kids, a 25-mile bike ride. This year I wanted to set a new goal for myself, so I decided to take on the challenge of getting into running! When I heard that MMP was partnering with the Falmouth Road Race I knew it was a perfect match. See you at the finish line!”

Lauren’s fundraising goal is $1,500 and she is hoping to reach this goal by the day of the race! In the past, Lauren has been one of ALKU’s top fundraisers for the Rodman Ride, raising over $5,000 in total for MMP, so we are all confident she will hit her goal this year as well!

We wish Lauren the best of luck and we will all be rooting for her on August 19th! Help Lauren reach her goal of $1,500 by donating to her fundraising page!
