Maddie’s ALKU journey began in 2016 as a Marketing Intern in the Andover office, followed by another internship at our Amherst Training Center in 2017 before joining full-time as a Marketing Coordinator in 2018. Back then, on a small team of just five, Maddie wore many hats—managing Communications, Internal Engagement, and Community Relations with precision and passion. In May 2021, she was promoted to Marketing Manager, where she led all Culture Marketing efforts and played a major role in shaping the ALKU experience we know today. At the start of this year, Maddie stepped into overseeing the entire Marketing Department, taking on the Growth Marketing Team and effectively acting as Director before the title. With her detail-oriented mindset, unmatched motivation, and strong leadership skills, Maddie has been instrumental in building the ALKU brand from the ground up. She consistently approaches her work with a “what is best for ALKU?” attitude, making her a trusted voice across all departments of the company.
Maddie is a detailed, motivated, and passionate leader who has left her mark on nearly every part of ALKU’s culture. Since the beginning of her ALKU journey, she has played an instrumental role in the creation, planning, and execution of countless events, bringing them to life with unmatched energy and enthusiasm. From founding our ALKU Gives Back program to shaping our Have Fun Working Hard® culture, Maddie has consistently gone above and beyond to create experiences that bring employees together and celebrate what makes ALKU unique. As a former AWE Leader and now Executive Sponsor, she leads with heart and purpose, always championing others while driving forward meaningful initiatives. Maddie’s creativity, strategic thinking, and ability to inspire her team have elevated the Marketing Team’s purpose companywide. In her new role as Director of Marketing, she will oversee the vision and strategy for the entire Marketing team while continuing to play an integral role in the broader direction of ALKU’s Corporate Team. Congratulations, Maddie! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish in this new role!
“I have been lucky enough to work directly with Marketing and Maddie for almost three years now, but from the day Maddie started as the Marketing Intern in 2016, I saw the impact she was going to have on ALKU. She immediately understood our Have Fun Working Hard® culture and created our Culture Marketing Team from the ground up. From Communications to Community Engagement, Maddie had a hand in all of it and had a great passion for every part. It wasn’t until a few years ago, when Maddie wanted a new challenge, that working alongside our Growth Marketing Team seemed to be a perfect fit. Every role in Marketing has a completely different set of tasks, and to keep a group of that size functioning at such a high level is no easy feat. However, Maddie does an amazing job of making it look just that easy. Maddie has been acting as the Director of Marketing for quite some time now; this promotion is so well deserved. Congratulations, Maddie! I am so proud of how far you have come – from Intern to Director is the best success story out there!” – Vice President, People Operations, Lauren Pacella
“Congratulations, Maddie!!! Your journey from an ALKU Intern to overseeing strategy and direction of all facets of Marketing has been impressive! Your dedication and collaboration with Talent have enabled us to implement effective programs, grow our brand, and contribute significantly to our success. Marketing reaches all corners of the company, and you have successfully tackled projects and challenges company-wide. You have always shown that Marketing will support us in whatever comes next. Congrats again!” – Vice President, Talent, Leah Bourdon
“Marketing is an important part of ALKU. They are responsible for helping to drive revenue, identifying internal talent, fostering a great culture, and collaborating with the community. It takes an incredible team to do all of this. With such high expectations, the team needs a leader who can bring it all together. And that person is Maddie Carnes. Maddie has been with us for many years, starting first as an ALKU Intern working out of the Amherst TC. Since coming here full-time, she has achieved so much success. She has been instrumental in building the team into what it is today. I’m sure everyone on her team can appreciate all she has done for them. She takes pride in Marketing being great and developing her people. With Marketing in need of a Director, there is no surprise that Maddie is the person. Congratulations on your well-deserved promotion!” – Chief Operating Officer, Jon Kujala
