In partnership with Mass Mentoring Partnership, ALKU opens the 2023 Scholarship for the 9th year
Andover, MA (April 19, 2023) – ALKU is thrilled to announce that they have opened their 9th annual ALKU Scholarship. Founded in 2015, ALKU expanded its outreach within the mentoring community by creating the scholarship alongside Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP).
The ALKU Scholarship is a $30,000 college scholarship for a rising Massachusetts high school senior engaged in a positive and empowering youth-adult relationship for at least one year. The ALKU Scholarship recipients must demonstrate community involvement, hard work, leadership experience, and financial need. Additionally, the recipient will gain access to the ALKU community as an additional support system. The individuals will be mentored throughout their entire time in college, entering the workforce, and beyond.
Together, ALKU and MMP invest in the support young people need by raising funds and awareness to build and deliver critical resources to the field of mentoring in Massachusetts. Through capacity-building services, training, and technical assistance, MMP brings evidence-based research to practice for local programs that promote the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships. ALKU supports the mentoring cause and MMP through several internal and external initiatives, the ALKU Scholarship being one of ALKU’s most impactful and robust programs.
