In honor of ALKU turning 15, ALKU and the ALKU Foundation will be continuing their mission to give back to the community by making 15 generous donations to non-profits that our employees are passionate about.

Animal Rescue League, Friends of the Fells, and Hospitality House of Charlotte are three popular VTO sites for the ALKrew. Each of these non-profits takes on the hypothetical role of a caretaker.

Learn more about the areas of their communities that they specialize in below.

Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL)

For over 120 years, ARL has been an unwavering champion for animals in need. Their dedicated volunteers and staff act as a first wave of response. They provide outstanding veterinary care, adoption, and field services. As well as confronting the root causes of animal cruelty and neglect through special police investigation and advocacy aimed at strengthening the animal protection laws. In 2022, they helped 20,653 animals with health services and 2,856 animals find their forever home.

Friends of the Fells

Through the support of a diverse and caring community, Friends of the Fells envisions a Middlesex Fells Reservation where nature and people thrive in harmony. Volunteering, becoming a member, and donating are some of the ways to get involved with Friends of the Fells and make a difference. In the last year, they’ve accelerated their advocacy efforts, expanded their hiking programs, launched a new after-school nature program, and much more.

Hospitality House of Charlotte

Since opening its doors in 1985, Hospitality House of Charlotte’s mission has been to create a community for patients connecting to vital medical care. By providing lodging in the heart of Charlotte’s medical community at minimal rates, they make it possible for patients to access vital medical care. In 2022, the Hospitality House of Charlotte served 2,120 guests for a collective 13,253 nights during their difficult medical journeys.
