A group of people celebrating.

In honor of ALKU turning 15, ALKU and the ALKU Foundation will continue their mission to give back to the community by making 15 generous donations to non-profits that our employees are passionate about.

Girls on the Run, Dream Big, And DOVE are dedicated to empowering girls and women. While their missions differ, their growing influence and positive impact is something they all share. The futures of girls and women are bright with the help of these non-profits!

Girls on the Run

Through fun and evidence-based programs, Girls on the Run inspires all girls to build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. They envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and can pursue her dreams boldly. In 2022, 2,560 girls were served in the greater Boston community with the unwavering dedication of more than 500 volunteer coaches.

Dream Big

Dream Big helps girls and young women from low-income situations achieve their dreams. They provide them with equipment, sports attire, and fees that enable them to participate in sports and activities that contribute to their health, education, and overall well-being. Since 2010, Dream Big! programs have impacted over 75,000 girls and young women in Boston communities.

(Fun Fact: ALKU’s Vice President, People Operations, Lauren Pacella, is heavily involved with Dream Big and is a member of their Women’s Empowerment Circle!)

DOVE

Rooted in their belief that everyone has the right to live without fear of abuse, DOVE works to end domestic and partner violence. DOVE assists victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children, as well as community education and prevention programming. Since its establishment, DOVE has helped nearly 5,000 families, answered more than 45,000 calls through their 24-hour hotline, and served over 3,000 clients through their community-based services.
