We are excited to feature our next Training Center Manager, Andover, Devin Quinlan! Devin has provided us with insights about his ALKU career, his favorite job aspects, and the Andover Training Center’s details. Check it out below!
When did you start your ALKU career?
I started in September 2021. I wasn’t lucky enough to find ALKU right after college, and I worked in healthcare for three years before finding ALKU!
Were you an ALKU Intern?
I was not fortunate enough to go through ALKU’s Internship Program. Our Training Center actually didn’t exist down at JMU when I graduated there in 2018, which just shows how much we’ve grown! If it did, I definitely would have taken advantage of the opportunity.
What was your first full-time role at ALKU?
I started as a Kronos Recruiter.
What drove you to your current position?
I realized throughout my career that what truly motivated me was helping others reach their full potential. If I can help you be successful, I feel successful myself. As Training Center Manager, I help Interns reach levels of success they may not have thought possible when they first walked in the door!
What is your favorite part of your job?
It’s the people. You will most likely get this answer from anyone in any position here at ALKU, and that’s because it’s just the correct answer. Working alongside and building relationships with like-minded, bright, hard-working individuals makes coming to work each day exciting and enjoyable. I love playing a pivotal role in developing the next layer of successful employees through our internship.
What is the atmosphere like at the Training Center?
Here at the Andover Training Center, we have a unique atmosphere due to being located right in our Headquarters. It is a high-energy, competitive, and fun environment. Everyone is here to support each other, and Interns can take advantage of having full-time employees in the same location by asking questions and seeking advice.
How does ALKU’s Have Fun Working Hard® culture display throughout the Training Center?
If you take a walk through the office, you will see the Have Fun Working Hard® culture right away. Whether it be a team celebrating a deal by bumping some music or the chatter of the phones, you can feel the energy in here. We also constantly have some type of contest going on to keep a fun, competitive atmosphere throughout the year. The prizes have included extra days off, trips to exciting places, and gift cards!
What can an ALKU Intern expect to learn and experience throughout their internship?
An ALKU Intern can expect to learn what it’s like to work in a professional setting while gaining crucial industry experience in sales and corporate processes. Although the goal is for Interns to turn the ALKU internship into a full-time position, the skills they learn will be something they can carry with them for the rest of their careers!
What is one piece of advice you would give an individual looking to pursue an internship at ALKU?
Act now! We are constantly growing and hiring and can work around logistics that work for you. With four physical Training Centers and three virtual as of right now, we can work with students across the nation!
