Carla started her ALKU career in October 2020 and has been essential to her team since day one. Much work Carla does is behind the scenes and is done before all new hires begin at ALKU. She continues to go above and beyond to ensure processes are the most effective as possible, the new hire user experience in terms of technology is seamless, and her employees are supported and have the tools they need to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

The care and attention to detail Carla continuously puts into her role is genuinely remarkable. Today, she assists in the growth of the Enterprise Technology team, one of which includes helping to run the Enterprise team meetings, along with a monthly meeting with Talent teams. Her day-to-day role includes overseeing all employees onboarded, claiming and resolving multiple technology issue emails, terminations, promotions, and role changes of all ALKU users. She has also trained her team and ALKU on various processes and tools. Aside from this, Carla has helped train and develop multiple employees on the Enterprise Technology team and is viewed as a mentor. It is a no-brainer that she was picked as CEO’s Choice in 2022!

At ALKU’s headquarters, they have outgrown their space. Therefore, Carla stepped in, created an entire process, and rolled it out to the Corporate and Talent teams. Not only did she help the Andover office as a whole, but she prioritized seats to be available for members of the ALKrew to travel from other offices to Andover.

Outside of her daily responsibilities, Carla is a member of two of ALKU’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which include Unity for employees of color at ALKU to share experiences, provide fellowship and support, enhance career and personal development, and contribute to ALKU’s vision and values and ALKU Women Empowered (AWE), A women’s group determined to provide resources to the women of ALKU and give them the support they need to continue to develop within the organization. Additionally, Carla participated in Unity’s Hispanic Heritage Month spotlight, where she spoke of her family’s culture.

Congratulations, Carla! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish in this new role!

Miss Carla, the day has finally come! It took us a long time to get you started at ALKU because of the pandemic, but boy, did you hit the ground running. I knew from week one that you would do great things at ALKU. From coming into the office when it was just the two of us to shipping out laptops to new hires, to planning multiple desk moves, getting out of your comfort zone, and meeting new people. All while keeping up with damaged equipment, promotions, terms, and onboarding new hires (what didn’t this girl do)? I wish I could tell everyone how many things you can juggle simultaneously because it is A LOT! But everyone would get sick of me talking about you (just ask Aleksia and Kuj). The attention to detail and the dedication you have shown to your job is unbelievable.

When I left, you took on a new role without hesitation and added another skill under your belt. Your team is so lucky to have someone like you who cares so much not only about the job but, more importantly, them. I am so excited about your next chapter, and I can’t wait to see what you do next. NEVER stop being you because you genuinely are one of a kind. Congratulations, Carla ALKU is so lucky to have you as a new manager!” -Erin McKone

“It is hard to believe that Carla has only been here for two and a half years. She started in the middle of the pandemic, spending most of her first few months at home. But she did not let that stunt her growth. She has been one of our most consistent and reliable employees. Not to mention her organization! She has played an integral part in keeping as many corporate and talent employees in the office over the last few months by ensuring we are using every inch of space we have. I know I can go to her anytime I need anything; she is on it right away. When I heard she was being promoted, I was very excited for her but not surprised. She has built a great team that will help lead us into the future. Congratulations on your well-deserved promotion!” -Jon Kujala

Having known Carla and working closely with her for over two years, this promotion could not be more well deserved! Not all employees are created equal; Carla is one of the best examples of that. As challenges arise, you would never know as her plate begins to overflow. She has one of the most even-keeled personalities I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with, even under immense pressure. Carla is passionate about making herself and others around her as successful as possible, even those not on her team. She is extremely tenacious while simultaneously being extraordinarily pleasant to be around. Carla’s domain knowledge, communication, listening skills, and the utmost respect and care for those around her will make her one of the best leaders in this company. Congratulations, Carla! I can’t wait to see you grow into this new role!” -Corrine Paynter
