Meet Vice President Leah Bourdon!

Leah does it all, from sitting on the board of numerous giving back organizations in her community, being a founder of ALKU’s AWE and Parents group, and playing an integral role in the growth and future of ALKU!

What is your favorite podcast?
The Daily – New York Times podcast and Dare to Lead with Brene Brown!

Who would you want to have coffee with?
Fun fact- I don’t drink caffeine so it would need to be chai with extra cinnamon. I would love to meet with SO many women throughout history it is hard to choose. Today it is Sarah Grimke, tomorrow Princess Diana.

What ERGs are you a part of?
I am a founder of ALKU Women Empowered (AWE) and Parents Group.

What ALKU Gives Back events or programs have you participated in?
The Rodman Ride for Kids, as well as Falmouth Road Race, both supporting Mass Mentoring Partnership!

Are you involved in giving back in your local community?
I am a board member at the Derry Friendship Center and a board member of the Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market. I also started an annual holiday initiative in 2017 to provide Christmas gifts for children in Derry called Holiday Smiles. Lastly, I am a member of 100 Women Who Care. This is an organization where women donate to a different organization each quarter.

What’s your career theme song?
All I do is Win – DJ Khaled

What app can’t you live without?
SugarWOD – tells me what the workouts are at my gym each day.

What is your favorite office lunch spot?
Mr. Takeout specifically for salads, and LaRosa’s if I am eating lunch out.

What is your go-to pick from the snack closet?
I bring my own snacks but the snack closet is amazing!

How do you Have Fun Working Hard™?
I always laugh the most when I am working in the office, just having fun with whatever topic I am working on at the moment, with whoever I am working with.

What is your biggest career advice?
My biggest advice is ask for what you want! You won’t get anything unless you ask for it.

Leah’s Bio:
Leah joined ALKU as a recruiter and played an integral part in building and managing her team and its leaders. Due to her incredible drive and work ethic, Leah advanced into her current role of Vice President. In this role, Leah’s area of responsibility will continue to be one of the most important pieces to the growth and future of ALKU—the acquisition of new talent, and the training and development of that talent. Leah will continue to oversee all these areas and grow them to allow ALKU to grow.
