At what location were you an Intern?
I was an Intern at the Durham Training Center.
What was your internship experience like?
When I first started my internship, it took time for me to get everything but then it all started clicking and I began to understand the entire process quickly. Throughout my internship experience, I felt extremely supported by Senior Manager, Training Centers, Corrine Paynter, as she made the Training Center environment so fun. I was also able to become friends with everyone I interned with, which made the experience all the more enjoyable.
What are a few words you would use to describe ALKU’s Training Centers?
Motivating, welcoming, demanding (in a good way), fun, and meaningful.
How did your internship experience prepare you for your full-time career?
My internship experience prepared me a lot for my full-time position with ALKU. After my internship, I was able to jump right in because I understood the expectations of the job, as well as what would be required of me in order to succeed. I had a deeper understanding of how to do my job successfully as the internship provided me with the building blocks I needed.
How did you accomplish being Rookie of the Year as a Recruiter?
I worked extremely hard and dedicated an immense amount of time to my job. I ensured that I was generating a lot of activity and not overthinking that activity. I really learned from the mistakes I made and did not let them deter me from continuing to work hard.
What were you feeling like after being named Rookie of the Year?
I felt a great sense of accomplishment! Rookie of the Year was something I knew I wanted even when I was an Intern, and finally getting to achieve that was awesome. I gained a sense of pride from knowing that all the hard work and the crazy late nights I put in were worth it!
