Rob Deck Promoted to Personnel Services Manager, Government

December 21, 2022

Rob started his ALKU career in 2018 and took on one of the biggest challenges at the Hendon office, owning all things Security. All Government agreements entirely depended on Rob to be able to start. He not only stepped up to the challenge, but he found various ways to make the Security process much more efficient than they were when he began.

A year into Rob’s ALKU career, his team established that his charismatic personality and team-player mentality made him the perfect person to start the Military Outreach Program. For multiple years, Rob saved his team as a Security Officer and got agreements as the Military Outreach Program Coordinator.

This past year, Rob was presented with another opportunity, passing off Military Outreach Program to allow it to grow under the Talent Pillar and learning all things Personnel to mentor the Government Personnel team. Again, Rob seized this opportunity and has become a great leader to the Personnel and Security team.

Rob’s team describes him as being inclusive, hardworking, and dedicated. He is always willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities while continuing to Have Fun Working Hard® every day. He always cracks a joke or lifts his team’s spirits when things get chaotic. He is the first to hype up open Employee Resource Group (ERG) meetings, fundraise and compete in various initiatives, and is always willing to help in Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, ALKU Gives Back focuses, or boosting morale in the office.

In his new role, Rob will be responsible for the strategy and continued development of the Personnel Services Team that supports the Government divisions.

Congratulations, Rob! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish in this new role!

“Rob is one of the most positive and goofy individuals I know! But don’t let this fool you. He’s also one of the most driven, hardworking, caring, and inclusive people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. If you’ve ever visited Herndon, Rob was probably one of the first to say “hello” and ask if you have lunch, dinner, and karaoke plans (if you know, you know). If you’ve ever been in any contest with him, you know that Rob is the most competitive person at ALKU. His competitiveness isn’t just with other people but also with himself. He wanted to be the best at his role when he started, and he was. When he was given the opportunity to build the military outreach program, he was the best person to spearhead that effort. When this year took a little turn, and he was given the opportunity to learn the Personnel world and be a mentor, he did the best job immersing himself in all things Personnel while getting a new hire caught up to speed in Security. Rob, you’ve worked incredibly hard to get here, and I could not be more proud and excited for this next chapter for you! You will be the absolute best manager for the Government Personnel team! CONGRATS!” -Mailee Zhou

“Rob is one of the most upbeat, positive people in all of ALKU. Since starting with us in the summer of 2018, he has built a robust Security engine that streamlines our processes, getting qualified cleared candidates to our clients promptly. As our FSO (Facility Security Officer), he has replaced himself by hiring a Security Administrator and then rolled up his sleeves to learn everything about Personnel Services. Watching him grow personally and professionally over the last 4 years has been a treat. Rob is one of the most passionate, caring individuals I’ve ever met. His passion and enthusiasm rub off on the people around him, which in turn, makes the environment a really fun place. Lastly, I’m not sure I’ve come across someone so good at taking feedback while never taking it personally and implementing improvements like Rob. Please join me in congratulating Rob Deck on this promotion. It will not be the last!” -Nate Rose

“Rob! Congratulations on the promotion! This has been a huge year of growth for you- from helping transition MOP over to Talent, training your first Security Administrator, being the whole team’s biggest “WoOOoo girl,” and more. I am so proud of you and excited to see where you take this role from here. You have an unmatched drive to be the best at what you do and a genuine concern for other people’s success and happiness. The Gov Personnel team is in fantastic hands!” – Anna Kochien
