Gaston Arocena was an ALKU Recruiting Intern who transitioned to full-time status in 2019. His hard work, record-breaking accolades, and emphasis on the importance of internal and external culture have made Gaston a leader for those around him to follow and mirror.

Internship Status

Gaston’s internship lasted a two-month duration at the end of his senior year, but it left a significant impact. Overcoming challenges, particularly gaining confidence in interacting with consultants, showcased his resilience. The growth opportunities and culture of the Andover office influenced his decision to accept a full-time position.

The Stone

Known as “The Stone” for his unwavering consistency and dependability, he leads by example and brings unmatched energy and passion every day. His full-time career launched in the Workday HCM division as a Recruiter, and a few years later, he was promoted to Senior Recruiter. He checked off just about every record-breaking accolade a Recruiter could own. In 2022, Gaston broke new ground once again with his promotion to the first-ever Recruiting Development Manager in ERP.

The Role of a Recruiting Development Manager

Gaston supports two vital divisions – Workday HCM and Workday Financials. His day-to-day involves building relationships with consultants across both groups and finding them projects. Daily interactions, both internally and externally, are Gaston’s favorite part of his role; he loves building meaningful relationships with his peers and consultants that go above a working relationship.

Looking ahead, Gaston envisions continued growth in his current role with a clear aspiration for leadership. Interested in setting yourself up for success? Take the first step towards success by applying for a spot in ALKU’s Internship Program.
