ALKU is thrilled to announce that Vice President, Lauren Pacella, has been named to Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40!
This prestigious award celebrates Boston’s best and brightest young professionals each year. This year’s 40 Under 40 class ranges from standouts early in their careers that’ve already made a mark in their industries, and those who’ve been climbing the ranks and making a name for themselves for a decade and a half. The honorees represent industries ranging from law and health care to fashion and construction.
This year’s honorees were selected by the Boston Business Journal editorial staff from over 200 nominations! When selecting the honorees, the editorial staff looked at their personal and professional accomplishments, civic involvement, and how they stand out amongst their peers. Lauren embodies all of this and more!
In her nine years with ALKU, Lauren’s persistence and hard work have accelerated her career growth. Lauren started as a point of contact on ALKU’s specialized Personnel Services team, and today she is one of three female Vice Presidents, a major stride for women at ALKU.
Lauren has many roles within ALKU that make her a strong leader. Her role as Vice President includes overseeing critical corporate teams such as Operations and HR. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauren helped her HR team in navigating the pandemic and ALKU’s response. At that time, Lauren stepped up when she was extended the opportunity to lead the Task Force. On top of that, Lauren is a part of the DE&I Council, which is committed to increasing diversity at ALKU making it an inclusive place for all.
Lauren is heavily involved in ALKU Gives Back. For the past six years, Lauren has participated in the Rodman Ride for Kids in support of Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP). For two years in a row, Lauren has run the Falmouth Road Race in support of MMP, as well. With both initiatives, she was able to raise thousands of dollars for MMP, a non-profit that expands and empowers youth-adult relationships in Massachusetts.
Outside of ALKU, Lauren sits on the Women’s Empowerment Circle within Dream Big, a nonprofit that supplies sports equipment and scholarships to underprivileged women. The Women’s Empowerment Circle is composed of ten women from various backgrounds, roles, and ages. These women run Dream Big’s annual November gala and volunteer opportunities. This fall, Lauren will be running the Boston 10K representing Dream Big.
When Lauren isn’t making strides at ALKU or giving back to the local community, she lives to try new things and is very open-minded. As a big foodie, she loves trying out new, interesting, and unique foods at amazing restaurants. When it comes to traveling, pack your bags and grab your passports because Lauren loves going to new and exciting places. To date she has traveled to France, Hawaii, Bali, and Africa- to name a few. When she isn’t traveling or being a foodie, she spends her time running with her two dogs, Tyson and Frankie, in preparation for her first half marathon this fall!
Lauren’s dedication, drive, and leadership is an inspiration to us all. Learn more about Lauren’s story in a special supplement of the Boston Business Journal coming soon. Congratulations to all of this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees!. Check out the full list of honorees here: https://bit.ly/3t0esLF
