ALKU Scholarship Now Open for 2021 Recipient: $30,000 to Rising Senior Across Massachusetts

ANDOVER, MA– ALKU, a highly specialized staffing firm, has opened its annual ALKU Scholarship today, searching for its seventh recipient. Founded in 2015, the ALKU Scholarship serves to directly impact the life of a local student engaged in a mentoring relationship. ALKU expanded its outreach within the mentoring community by creating the scholarship alongside Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP). The ALKU Scholarship benefits a rising high school senior in Massachusetts that has been positively impacted by a mentoring relationship. ALKU supports the mentoring cause, and MMP, through many initiatives, internally and externally, with the ALKU Scholarship being one of ALKU’s most impactful programs.

The ALKU Scholarship is a $30,000 college scholarship for a rising Massachusetts high school senior who has been engaged in a positive and empowering youth-adult relationship for at least one year. Created by ALKU’s CEO, Founder, and MMP Board Member, Mark Eldridge, this scholarship provides an opportunity for young people to apply for financial support in pursuit of their goal to attend college and earn a bachelor’s degree.

“Supporting the cause of Mentoring and helping under-represented youth is an effort and a cause that has been important to the employees of ALKU since our beginnings. There is no other part of our annual mentoring cycle that provides as much excitement and enthusiasm as identifying and selecting our next scholar. We know that by becoming an ALKU scholar, each winner joins a list of caring, dedicated students and young professionals who play their part to make the world a better place. Each one of our scholars stands out as an individual dedicated to a future of helping others and trying to make their community a better place,” -Mark Eldridge Founder and CEO of ALKU and MMP Board Member.

The ALKU Scholarship recipient will demonstrate community involvement, hard-work, leadership experience, and financial need. While this is ALKU’s second year of offering $30,000, having increased the scholarship by 50% from $20,000 in 2020, the ALKU Scholarship provides more than just monetary support. The scholarship recipient gains access to the ALKU community as another strong support system throughout their time in college, entering the workforce, and beyond.

In a year that has been trying for many, ALKU is thrilled to celebrate the first ALKU Scholar to graduate college, Marta Pleitez, as well as the exciting news that ALKU’s 2020 Scholar, Nellcie Bodden has committed to Columbia University for the Fall of 2021. ALKU looks forward to adding this year’s recipient to the ALKU Scholar community.

The seventh annual ALKU Scholarship is now open and accepting applications until Friday, July 23, 2021 at 5pm EST. All eligible individuals who would benefit from this opportunity are encouraged to apply here: http://bit.ly/ALKU202
